Rachael and Kieran chose the stunning Bartholomew's Church in Wednesbury for their ceremony. Rachael’s parents got married there years before, so it was important for both herself and Kieran that they exchanged vows in this significant place.
They each arrived to the church in Mustang muscle-cars… we could certainly HEAR the bride before we could see her!
Once they had officially ‘tied-the-knot’, the gorgeous pair got whisked off to the historic Priory park in Dudley where we took half an hour to snap some epic couple’s portraits amongst the 900 year old ruins of St James’ monastery. Both bride and groom looked FIT AF!!!
From there it was onwards to Copthorne Hotel to party the balmy summer evening away. It certainly was a proper BOSTIN ‘Black Country’ ‘knees-up’!! So, SO MUCH FUN!
The rum was flowing, Cyprus Hill was playing loud and the bride & groom’s motto for life rang true for everyone all night long…
And what is their motto?
“F**K IT, AY IT!”

Stacey & Chris
I photographed Stacey and Chris’ stunning spring-time wedding at The Barns Hotel in Cannock, which is situated right on the edge of the epic natural beauty that is Cannock Chase forest.
I absolutely loved how chilled and relaxed they both were on the big day itself. I think a huge part of that was due to them being (hands down) the most organised couple I have ever worked with! Right from our first meeting a whole two years before - it was clear that both Stacey and Chris had a vision of exactly what they wanted, right down to the smallest styling details! That level of organisation most certainly paid off, as the day ran so smoothly and the vibe was super chilled right from the get-go!
Their Special day was purely all about celebrating their love - surrounded by their dearest family and friends. You could literally ‘feel’ the love in the room!
My favourite part of the day was when we were able to take 15mins away from the bustling party and drive to a beautiful little spot on Cannock Chase to snap some ‘tender shots’. It was so lovely documenting them having their first few moments alone together as husband and wife, letting it all sink in!
We had so much fun that we didn’t realise Stacey had managed to sweep up a twig (the length of my arm!) into her skirts! We untangled it in the car on the drive back and laughed about the fact that they would probably keep it as a wedding-memento!
The Barns is the perfect venue for couples who value the photographic potential of Cannock Chase Forest! It is quite literally on it’s doorstep and it is truly stunning!

A very rare wildlife sighting: the lesser-spotted yazzuss yazzuss. This mythical creature (more affectionately known as the Clevedon Curler) is thought to be rarer than the Loch Nessie. This fine specimen was spotted foraging in her natural habitat: The 2p Shove machines. After an hour of quietly stalking the ‘Curler’ - I was surprised to witness that this crafty creature managed to only be 24p down! At this moment: I was spotted by the Curler (I was up-wind and she has a sense of smell 50x stronger than that of a canine)… She swiftly bagged her paper cup of 2p winnings and scuttled off to feed the copper delights to her waiting brood. Needless to say: I am over the moon with this photograph and shall be submitting it to The National Geographic magazine ASAP. Wet plate collodion, 5x7. Antique butterfly bought from a vintage flea market a few years ago. I managed to haggle the dealer down to £10 for a specimen display drawer full of them because the glass was all smashed and quite a few of the butterflies were damaged or had turned to dust. All of the specimens were pinned with original hand-written notes with dates. Each of the butterflies are between 80-100 years old. For the last 24 hrs…. Yesterday I attended a job at a school to document their Remembrance Day Ceremony. They had a number of Special Guests in attendance, one of them was this lovely, vibrant chap - a WW2 Veteran. After the service, I asked him if could take a photograph of him: he obliged, with much gratitude and grace. In the few short moments, whilst I was clicking the shutter - I remembered a story that my Grandfather had told his daughter (my Aunite Helen) in his final moments, as she was collecting his memoirs on paper before he died. He recounted a terrible day in the trenches of WW2 at the age of 18 - where he was confronted with the human face of ‘The Enemy’… and in that moment, he said he realised that the 'enemy’ was just the same as him, another human-being - he was a young man, just like him: who was fighting for what he believed was 'right’. In that moment I feel my Grandad experienced the true pain of 'War’. When I put my camera down and observed the 2 mins silence, I thought of all of them xxx WW1 WW2 xxx

This pic was taken at my first ever experience of shooting wet plate collodion on location. It was at Lacock Abbey in August. That weekend was a steep learning-curve indeed! I met some of (in my opinion) the best wet-platers in the world. I made some really great mates and also at least one life-long friend! My mom, has gifted her love, kindness, wisdom and love on countless souls over the years. She inspires me every second if every day.
